Imo state born Mac-Anthony Ugochukwu Abirika whose stage name is “MACTEE”, as a kid he listened to his dad playing songs from the likes of Bob Marley and Don Williams, it spurred the music instincts in him, which led him to form a musical group in high school.
After his high school education, MACTEE decided to pause on the music scene and further his education, he proceeded to CARITAS University Enugu to study Accounting after some months he transferred to MADONNA University where he completed his Bachelor’s degree. MACTEE is an Accountant by profession, but he never forgot his first love which was music.
It wasn’t shocking that immediately he graduated from the university in 2011 he decided to return to the industry that he had always longed for, he met with his long time friend and school mate Mr. Bobby Romeo, and his musical sojourn began. MACTEE is the real definition of a versatile musician, he does music with ease and passion, he understands the basics and rudiment of music, he does R n’B, Hip-hop, Reggae, Afro and he’s set to take over the Nigerian music scene with a banging new single he’s working on, titled “DELILAH” which was produced by Mikki Mi and includes a west African collaboration from his Ghanaian counterpart EL, the single shows the Reggae side of MACTEE and had EL spicing it up. He gets his inspiration from Wyclef Jean, Bob Marley, Kenny Rogers, Lauren hill, 2face Idibia and P-square.
